February is officially recognized as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, a time to celebrate the value and impact of CTE programs. Rio Rico High School is proud to announce that we have 1,090 students enrolled in 10 programs. Our CTE programs are affiliated with Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs), where students actively participate in competitions, leadership training, and community service, enhancing their learning experience.

Neth Armenta has committed himself to unwavering effort in weights class. Holding his own with the strength and conditioning workouts, he sets new personal bests in various exercises. When there is limited space in the racks, Neth finds a solution repping out bodyweight exercises on his own!

SHE'S IN! Octavio-Callejo Qualifies for State Championship Tournament
Congratulations to Coach Taylor Nordgren, his staff and Jessence Octavio-Callejo on qualifying for the AIA wrestling state championship tournament. Jessence will travel to Veterans Memorial Coliseum on Feb. 21-22 to compete in the 235 lb. weight class. It's Time to Fly!

THEY'RE IN - Girls Soccer Qualifies for the Postseason
Congratulations to Coach Daniel Rodriguez, his staff and our girls soccer program on qualifying for the postseason. The Hawks will travel to #12 Saguaro High School (Scottsdale) on Thursday for a 6:00 p.m. start. A win will punch a ticket to the field of 16 in the 4A conference state championship tournament. Time to Fly!


The RRHS Law and Public Safety program proudly participated in the annual SkillsUSA regional event in Tucson. The CSI team demonstrated their expertise and earned an impressive 3rd place finish, while Damian Ramirez-Quesada also secured 3rd place in his individual competition. A special thanks to all the law enforcement agencies who supported our students with high-quality training and mentorship. Santa Cruz Unified 35 values your partnership.

RRHS/FFA Student Organization proudly participated in the Arizona SAILA Classic. Our students showcased their hard work and dedication, with Mia Lopez earning the Grand Champion Prospect Steer. This achievement highlights the commitment and talent of our FFA members. A special thank you to Dr. McPherson for his guidance and leadership in supporting our students throughout this experience.
