We are incredibly proud of all of our Rio Rico High School seniors who were celebrated at the Thirteenth Annual Excellence in Education Recognition Banquet. These students demonstrate exceptional academic skills, heavy involvement in extracurricular activities, and devotion to their school and community. This event was hosted by the Friends of SCVUSD No. 35 Foundation in honor of Rio Rico High School's highest-achieving graduates, and of the educators who influenced them on their way toward excellence in education. We are so grateful for their continuous support towards our students and their success. Congratulations to Daniela Garavito for her tremendous efforts to raise $700 for the Class of 2025 fundraiser! Jostens Inc. presented Daniela with a custom class ring to celebrate her big accomplishment as the student who raised the most money. Rico and Rita were also able to join in on the celebration! 🎉🥳 #HawkPride #MyJostens

On Friday, 25 April, the RRHS JROTC Battalion conducted its annual awards ceremony, where it awarded the Cadets National and JROTC awards for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The Battalion also recognized its Seniors with their Stoles and conducted its Change of Command, installing its leadership for the next school year. Racing the Sun (RTS) is a hands-on, innovative engineering program that challenges high school students to design, build, and race electric and solar-powered go-karts. Racing the Sun is a college preparatory program available to any Arizona high school. Congratulations to the Rio Rico High School Engineering Team. Go Hawks!

Rio Rico High School hosted STEAM Night, an exciting event that brought together families from Santa Cruz County. Culinary Arts, Business Operations, Engineering, Sports Medicine, and Film and TV each showcased their Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. A big congratulations to the SCV35 TLA Department for organizing such a successful and inspiring event!

Our Governing Board was proud to recognize Milan Wilkinson for earning the Presidential Volunteer Service Medal (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) for all of her volunteer hours she has earned while in the JROTC Program at Rio Rico High School. We are proud of students like Milan who go #AboveTheBar and showcase their dedication, leadership, and character.
