On Wednesday, October 25th, Joe and Jan Grossi from Jostens presented Mrs. Loree Johnson with a Teacher of the Year ring in honor of her outstanding accomplishments. Mrs. Johnson, an AP English and European History teacher at Rio Rico High School, was named the Santa Cruz County Teacher of the Year for 2023. Mrs. Johnson was selected from 21 nominees from various schools in Santa Cruz County. The nominees were nominated by their respective schools and then interviewed by a committee consisting of five volunteers representing different areas of the county. Mrs. Johnson was also named the RRHS Teacher of the Year and the SCV35 District Teacher of the Year.
