Our School

MascotsRio Rico High School serves students from the elementary and middle schools in the Santa Cruz Valley Unified School District. Spanish for “Rich River,” the community of Rio Rico sits nestled in the foothills of Cayetano Mountain. It is a beautiful place for children to grow and learn!

Our school recently received a “B” letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education, and our test scores continue to grow as our students and teachers work hard in everything they do. We offer honors, advanced placement, and Cambridge classes for qualifying students as well as career and technical education classes for those wanting a jump-start on their future career. A strong athletics program, highly qualified teachers, extra-curricular activities, and a booming school pride round out the abundant opportunities for our students.

Site Council

Our school site council meets the first Wednesday of every month to discuss and make decisions on important Rio Rico High School issues. All meetings begin at 5:00 p.m. and are held in the Rio Rico choir room. We invite all parents and staff to participate and have their voices be heard. Help us help your children!
