A Message from Our Principal

Dear Families and Friends,

Happy new year! In conjunction with new year's resolutions, here at Rio Rico High School (RRHS) we resolve to provide the best learning and educational experience for all of our students. As outlined in our school goals for the year, we have made considerable strides in specific areas with room for growth in other areas. We have had positive strides during the first semester in building a student-centered culture. This is evident by the hosting of FUNtastic Fridays, a strong student council presence, a strong student section during home events, the creation of the Rio Rico Student Senate, and monthly student of the month luncheons. In addition, students have had tremendous growth in the area of tardies. Prior to this past semester, the student tardy rate was above seven percent in the previous school year. With a structured tardy policy and setting the expectation for students to arrive to class on time, the current tardy rate sits at three percent. Despite this achievement, we are working to bring this number down. Thank you for being on time, Hawks! Areas of growth we are still working on are daily student attendance and student proficiency. Attendance matters, and we need your help to ensure that our students are here every day. A direct correlation to student growth and proficiency is student attendance. If we address daily attendance as one community, we will in turn impact our student growth and proficiency as one community. Thank you for your help with this!

I look forward to building upon our first semester successes and improving our areas of growth. As the principal of RRHS, my 2020 new year's resolution will be to provide the best learning opportunities and create the best high school experience for each student. Thank you for your continued trust and support.

Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Livestream, and Twitter to see the latest happenings around campus.

Go, Hawks!

Un mensaje de nuestro director

Queridas familias y amigos,

¡Hawk Pride!,

Hector Estrada
